Program Overview

The Graduate Program in Communication at the Fluminense Federal University (PPGCOM-UFF) is the second oldest Brazilian graduate program in Communication. It has awarded over 1,200 master’s degrees and 400 doctoral degrees to students from different regions in Brazil and abroad.

Many of our alumini hold undeniable leadership positions within the Communication research field, and several became graduate program coordinators and directors at relevant scientific and technological institutions across the country.

PPGCOM-UFF has 17 faculty members engaged in two distinct research concentrations: Communication Aesthetics and Technologies, and Media, Culture, and Meaning Production.

The program welcomes students from different major fields.

The master degree in Communication is a two-year program, while the doctoral program is a four-year program.
